Since joining Daystar Kids in January 2013, Daystar Kids has experienced unprecedented growth; quadrupling its service capacity, doubling its educational and pediatric nursing staff, expanding its Family Support Services, and increasing its annual operating budget by more than 250%. Under Kim’s stewardship, Daystar Kids inclusive, multi-disciplinary programs are helping change the dialogue about the future of children with complex health care needs in New York State. Identifying policy gaps that serve as barriers to equal access for children with medical conditions to early childhood programs vital for their long-term success, Kim has compelled Daystar Kids to pursue innovative, effective, and impactful community collaborations to achieve improved outcomes for its young patients and provide a comprehensive blend of resources to support children with complex health care needs at just a fraction of the cost of institutional care and/or home care nursing.

Kim brings visionary leadership and a wealth of experience in the private and non-profit sectors to her advocacy efforts, having spent more than 15 years as a lobbyist in New York City, representing the interests of more than 125 health and human service providers, national corporations, and public policy advocacy groups. Prior to joining Daystar Kids, Kim served as Director of Resource Development and Strategic Community Affairs for Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection in Rochester, NY and helped expand its evidence-based youth development program to four regions across New York State and Maryland; increasing its revenue from $3M to $13M over three years.
